Rebecca’s Answer

I attended Western Governor's University. I completed my Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (the Software Development) path and I'm now enjoying my career at PwC.

WGU was exactly what I needed - highly customizable depending upon available free time, extremely affordable and cost-inclusive; the price of my tuition covered the industry-standard certifications that were a part of my degree and there were no hidden or unanticipated fees. As someone with little prior professional experience coding, I also appreciated their supplementary materials and responsive instructors. Also, they use a competency-based grading system; this means they use a rubric to grade which parts of the assignment you've mastered, and if you fail to master that, they send it back with notes and ask you to try again. This permitted me to gain a deeper understanding of the material and has contributed greatly to my success post-graduation.

Finally, if you are an academic 'sprinter', you can consume the courses at your own pace without penalty. WGU charges by the semester rather than the tuition hour and the courses are largely asynchronous, meaning you can accomplish much in a short period of time.

I took my degree from the IT college, but they also have Health, Business and Education colleges.

Rebecca recommends the following next steps:

Take a look to see if their offerings might fit your needs.

Umang’s Answer

Depending on your interest and choice of field you may choose from a number of online courses and certifications available across the globe which ranges from project management (PMP Certification) to online marketing courses to IT related courses from tech giants like Microsoft or Oracle, etc.

Online Marketing is one field which works for all industries from Food to IT to Entertainment. If you love exploring internet and have the art of creativity then I would highly recommend this field.

I myself ventured into online marketing and is enjoying every bit if it. Though there are good online courses and universities available in institutes like London Business School, University of Illinois, University of California etc, but a person can also gain knowledge through free online courses and certifications available on internet on topics like Social Media Marketing, SEO, PPC, Google Adwords, Facebook Marketing, etc.

Janice’s Answer

I attended University of Phoenix. I completed my Bachelor's degree in Management and continued on to complete my Master's in Business Administration. I found it to be an extremely valuable experience. I use things I learned every day in my job. It is definitely an investment. U of P is not inexpensive. I recommend searching for and applying for any scholarship that you can find!

Janice recommends the following next steps:

Do some research and find the program that meets your needs.
