No matter what kind of DJ you become (wedding, corporate, club, etc.), you need to understand at a high level what kind of music your audience likes, how each of your songs will affect your audience, and how to transition effectively from song to song. This requires a) extensive knowledge of the genre(s) you will be drawing tracks from and b) the technical skills to transition from one song to the next.
Once you have the knowledge and skills to be an effective DJ, you will then need to build a following. Some ways to do that are to create a social media account, post DJ mixes on SoundCloud, create a YouTube channel. You will also want to network with promoters at the sort of events you want to play.
Once you start getting gigs, you can build a reputation that will enhance your ability to get better gigs and better pay.

Everything in music is subjective if you to be a DJ one you need to know how to put together a playlist for the mood of the event. I would learn some producing so you can create your own remixes. I biggest thing is experience you to sink into what is that you doing study it learn what equipment you need. You need to figure out if you want to spin vinyl or digital. YouTube is going to be your best friend.

Good taste in music, knowing about the music your Playing! Rhythm and timing is a plus! Mainly finding good groves and vibes and continue building grove and momentum, no matter the genre
