The bigger the scholarship, the more competitive it will be, so a good piece of advice is to apply for lots of smaller scholarships. Many scholarships go unclaimed every year, so keep an eye out and do what you can to apply for them. Conversely, the harder it is to meet a scholarship application's requirements, the more likely you are to get the scholarship if you try since its likely there will be much fewer applicants for that particular scholarship.

Scholarships can be difficult to secure, but not impossible. Start your research early - you don't want to rush an application. You want it to be personal, well-written, and applicable to the scholarship. You also want to give yourself time for someone or multiple people to proof read and give you edits. Your first copy shouldn't be the copy you submit. Provide meaningful and relevant examples, and depending on how the questions are asked, try and paint a picture of who you are and why you are the best candidate for this scholarship. Lastly be professional when submitting your application. And just like you would with a job application, follow-up, and thank whoever reviews your application.

Hello. This depends on the scholarship. Some scholarships are fairly simple to fill out and only take a few minutes. Other scholarships take much longer and require essays. It is a good idea to take your time whenever filling out scholarships, though, even if the application is one of the easier applications to fill out. I would spend a considerable amount of time on each question, because you want to make sure that you are answering to the best of your abilities so you have a better chance of getting the scholarship. I hope this helps!
