How many years do I need to go to college to be a physical therapist and what are some skills I would need to pursue this career?

That various, however, a bachelor degree is mandatory. Some pre-med courses would be very helpful, such as biology, chemistry, etc. also, some mathematical knowledge might be helpful since you need to help patient move some part of body. Lastly, you need to have a strong body.

My daughter is currently working on her Physical Therapy degree. She needed 4 years of undergraduate school. The school she attended required a high grade point average during that time frame, 3.5. They helped her apply to Physical Therapy school for a 2 year program where she will be certified at a Physical Therapist once completed. We have a friend who is in the industry and she recommends going a total for 4 years to gain your doctorate.

I would recommend going to a local hospital or Physical Therapy office to shadow someone. This would give you insight if this is something you would really be interested in.
