you can take basic courses like science,math,english etc.
make a list of things you like.
choose the best option from the list.
do research.
don't stress out.

Hi Gosala,
After 10th, Ideally one would opt for a full time pre university course with Biology as a Major for two years and then write the entrance exams for dentistry like BDS/NEET before pursuing a career in dentistry.

Hi Gosala,
After class 10 you can join the 2 years pre university course with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as major subjects as you want to be a Dentist, and take up Computer science or electronics as elective subject, and you can prepare for NEET entrance exam for qualifying to join medical professional course(BDS)

Hi Gosala,
If you are keen on pursuing Dentistry as a profession, you may want to consider taking up core Biology as a major after 10th which will help you understand all the basics required for studying medicine. It will also help you prepare for certain university entrance exams which are more specific to your preferred domain. Choosing Biology as a major comes as a package with Physics and Chemistry. Majority of the times in such cases there are options available to drop Mathematics.
Example: I selected Biology as a major along with Physics and Chemistry after my 10th grade. Since I had to pick two more subjects, I picked Office Management and English. The point I want to make here is you will have an option to substitute Mathematics, choose your university and your subjects wisely.
Once you are through with the entrance exam, you will have a number of streams within medicine to choose from - if you still want to go with Dentistry, you may choose BDS or any equivalent degree to do a more targeted study.

The biggest decision post class 10 is picking the right stream. Picking the right stream is extremely important as everything that happens thereafter will depend on it. Many students pick the stream without actually understanding what lies in store for them after joining it. Therefore, proper understanding and knowledge of the stream you opt for and the future career options they offer, is very important.
At times, students follow the herd mentality and pick the stream which their friends opt for or the one that their parents suggest. This is a wrong and dangerous practice and will lead to flawed career decisions. Many students pick the stream without actually understanding what lies in store for them after joining it, so I suggest students go what they really strong in subject, considering on that choose the courses.
