Is filming and animation the same thing
Is animation the same as filming because both have a story and production but one deals with art while the other deals with cameras. #college-advice

Hi Caleb. In my experience usually animation is generated by hand drawing or computer to create something brand new. Filming is usually done with a camera (digital still, movie camera, film camera) to capture creatively things that already exist.

In live action filmmaking you you need practical and visual lighting effects people and your actors will largely have to look their parts. Learning how to do one will give you a head start on someone who is untrained in either, but both take time to master.

So after doing some personal research and using my previous knowledge, though animation and filming are similar, they are not the exact same. Animation is typically seen in cartoon styled movies and are made from drawings and other graphic designs. Filming is typically using a video camera and recording real life objects such as people, places, or things. Though they are similar because they both play large rolls in the film industry, they still have their own distinct traits. I hope this answer helps!!
