it's about my future

I don't have any particular career chosen but I'm interested in lots and lots of things like painting, sketching basically arts and craft also in acting, dancing, photography cooking and few other things. soo recently I was reading an article on "power of combining your skills" I would like to know that how can I combine my skills as I'm no pro in those skills I'm just average soo what career should I choose or how I combine those skills to be successful in future.

Hi Janvi S. Thanks so very much for posting this question...please know that you are not alone as there are many, many talented young people like yourself who aren't quite sure what direction they want to go.

So here is the good news...you absolutely can solve this issue. But it will take putting in some time. Specifically, you can and should give yourself some time to organize yourself. Make it a practice at least three times a week to document and then act on what you have written. So what should you write about? One option would be to write about three things that you have done or want to do with respect to designing your future. These could be short term goals such as "took a structured dance class today", "cooked that special meal" with a family member, "working towards getting application fee for a professional acting class". In other words, now is a good time to get more specific about what you CAN do and align that with what you want to do...and then...do it :)

Many times, putting your thoughts into words on paper, that you can look at everyday or even look back at what you have written in the past...many times these documented words can serve as a driving force on what you can do next to move you closer to combining what you like to do AND what you can either do well or what you can work on to get better. In my opinion, your success will be tied to your follow through... and starting from a point of good design (coming from an engineer :)) can be a great way to put you on and keep you on a strong success path.

So you are a creative person! There are so many different avenues for creative people or you can just create one for yourself. Perhaps you can try your hand at creating paintings and drawing and selling them on market places like Etsy, Facebook marketplace etc. I would also look into becoming a illustrator for book authors/ story writers. Let me know if you explore these options. Cheers.

Hi Janvi, i really found Nicole's inputs quite useful- hopefully it helps you frame your thoughts better. Seems like each of your interests bring out a several key skills and competencies. As you go about doing them and self-reflecting to enlist your thoughts on paper, see if it's 'finesse' or a particular art form to type of photography as examples that attract your mind and heart? Also many a times either it's our upbringing, set of friends that makes us have an underestimated image of ourselves- point in case you may want to validate if you really are Average or Good? Someone more wiser than me once said " The trouble with the world today is that people who don't spend time to listen and understand things are so cocksure about things and the ones who actually spend time to understand things are filled with doubt" So hoping your self-reflections on how good you really are, would help bring out the best for you. I liked the fact you spent time to read about "Combined skills" - it's not just combination but also strong application that would bring you go through the ups and downs of life.

No matter what your passion in life, you have to find a way to monetize your efforts. So that means either selling your artistic creations or selling your creative labor to an employer. There is a wide world of design careers that will scratch nearly any creative itch (even textile design and industrial design). But don't rule out engineering, which is really just creative problem solving! Civil and sound engineering are often uncommon want to combine your creative skills.
