YES!!! For the foreseeable future good engineers will continue to be in high demand. Depending on what you do beyond basic engineering, ie. manage people and/or money engineering can pay you very well. The higher the responsibility, the higher the salary. The variety of work an engineer can do is just as enticing as the salary. With a little bit of good financial management, one can live very comfortably and retire before 60 (as I did) if you want.

Yes, engineering jobs generally pay well. There's a high demand for skilled engineers, too. So if you can handle the math and science requirements OK, it's a great career field to go into!

Yes, engineering jobs typically pay well, it's just that some pay more than others. For example, this is still the age of innovation (probably the next decade too), hence engineers related to the fields of Computer Science and electronics are particularly in lot more demand compared to the other fields. Hence, these engineers demand higher salaries and benefits since the market can afford to pay more for this type of work currently.


Also I would say pay is relative to the city where you would like to live and work. For example, I work in San Francisco as I like what the city and state has got to offer, but it comes at a cost. Even though the pay is higher than other cities, the cost of living is so high that you end-up saving less compared to another major city, say Chicago or Houston. And let's say if you are an engineer at factories, which are typically located in smaller cities, your housing cost might be significantly less compared to an corporate office job in a major city.


To sum up, engineering jobs pay well; it depends on what kind of field is in demand and what field you are interested in and how well you prepare in high school to solidify your foundational knowledge in math and science.
