What are some interesting remote jobs that are available right now?
Even with a bachelors degree, looking for a job has been very challenges these past 6 months. I would like to find a job that is remote, interesting, flexible (optional), and allows me to travel while I pursue my dreams. Just want to reiterate that this is a "hope and dream" of mine. Just need some remote job suggestions, maybe even some links to remote jobs that no one knows about right now. I would really appreciate the feedback, resources, and help. Thank you so much.

A lot of tech companies are allowing employees to work remote full time now such as Dell, Spotify, Facebook/Meta and others. Dell was even very flexible on this pre-pandemic. Obviously some roles are not designed for remote work, such an an on-site lab engineer, but most business functions and companies have remote job openings that likely fit your skillset and desired area of work.

Teriyana - I did not see a field or industry that you are focused on, with the pandemic going on currently many people are remote and employers have loosened their requirements on where the employee must live.
With that being said, I would search LinkedIn and filter by remote.
Healthcare Management is large area that is completed in a remote capacity. If you are looking to travel once pandemic restrictions are lifted I would look towards a health insurer who does auditing of processes or pharmacy benefit manager (pbm).
There is also the idea of outside sales, medical devices and some pharmaceutical companies may be looking to fill positions once the restrictions are lifted as well.
With that being said, I would search LinkedIn and filter by remote.

Hi! I’m an internal auditor and travel the US about 50% of the year and no two days are the same. Maybe audit is a field you can look into? It’s a good field for entry level positions because it exposes you to all areas of a company and auditors also typically have opportunities to promote to other areas in the company because of the experience.

Covid-19 has created many opportunities for remote careers in a wide range of industries. I think it's essential that job-seekers first identify their strengths and interests and then seek opportunities to contribute their talents in an industry in which they're interested and have skills to contribute. Landing a job only because it it remote may not end up being very fulfilling or rewarding if we don't have a lot of interest or desire to pursue it.

I work for a Telecommunications company where this kind of work is ideal. I interact with people from across the world; India, Philippines, Mexico, etc. and all interaction needs to be done "electronically" (Instant messaging, visual meetings, email) . This doesn't require a brick and mortar site to do this kind of work.

Hi Teriyana! I would recommend considering a career in internal audit. I currently work as an auditor for a multinational corporation and travel extensively and work remotely when I'm not on the road. The field seems to be an acquired taste but I've loved it from day one; people in different departments aren't always receptive to our help but once we establish ourselves as business partners, not the police, this attitude changes. Most entry level position will require travel, especially in industries like retail and hospitality, and will require longer hours but its a great place to learn.

Linkedin now allows you to search by "remote" job more easily due to Covid. I've gone the web dev route myself and taken this into software development which pays me a little more. I've seen jobs for Covid response investigators recently to due Covid tracking from home etc. for example though on Linkedin. Life coaches are a big thing now too and you can create social media followers. I've gotten a life coach recently and they help me by setting goals so I can work from home better and not get distracted by the fact that I'm at home.
If you want to travel the world though with your remote work then you can often afford to take a lower paying job since the conversion rate can be in your favor depending on where you decide to travel to. I personally did a web dev bootcamp and I have been remote ever since and could technically travel and work from anywhere now.

You have gotten a lot of feedback to your question. I would like to focus one clear item - the job itself. Are you looking for a job that can traditionally be done remotely? For example, we learned in recent years that many teachers could not easily make the transition to virtual teaching. That is because they are very different, very, very, different. So you need to know if your job can be done remotely. I have a job that can be done anywhere in the world - and I have done it all over the world. All jobs benefit from in-person contact. All of them, because we are working with humans and we interact best with other humans in person. That is because you get a lot from in-person communication, most notably body language. We learn a lot about people from body language.
Other challenges in remote work:
- You need to have good data connectivity wherever you choose to work.
- You need to have good remote communication skills. Sometimes that means being good on video discussions. You have to be good in writing and overcommunicate whenever possible.
- You have to be self-motivated to do good work. Will you work if no one is keeping an eye on you? The assumption is that people do better work at home than in the office. I have seen both situations being true. I have had coworkers who should never be allowed to work from home. They don't have the self-discipline for it.
Once you have considered what you have read here, you will have a better idea if remote work is really for you.

Since it looks like a lot of people have been able to provide relevant opportunities, I'd like to suggest brainstorming where you intend to work remotely. A lot of companies, even global firms, have restrictions on remote work outside of the contiguous United States due their tax policy. If you're planning to work internationally, I would target roles where this is an approved or an allowable option. Additionally, please keep in mind how working in different time zones can affect your personal and professional live. For example, if you are an early riser living on the east coast and working for a west coast company, these hours may not be ideal for your productivity or your work schedule.
