How would I get experience in classes my school doesn't have?

My school is very small and has an even smaller amount of classes for the students to choose from for electives and does not have a choice of any AP classes. If I want to do something like Aeronautical/Astronautical engineering, the College/University I may choose to go to may want a better Math/Physics background than what I would get. #college #experience

Hi Jack,

Great question! I would suggest you look into your local community college. Most offer special programs for High School students where a student can take college courses while still in High School. There are even some schools that allow you to take college classes to satisfy high school requirements.

Best,

Natalie

Hi Jack W. I see that you posted this question a little while ago so I hope my answer to you (or others who may read this response) is still helpful.

As I respond to this question in the year 2021, a lot has changed. Because of the pandemic, individuals have spent more time working and learning remotely. If you have access to a decent internet connection either at home or at your public library, you can consider getting **exposure** (which might be different from experience) to math/science courses that may not have been available at your school. Or maybe you get exposed to certain elements of math/science like calculus, vectors, statistics...maybe you just peel off certain areas of math/science to dig into and search for those online. Between Google and Youtube, there is a world of helpful hints out there that can be very useful to enhancing your math/science knowledge.

Best of luck to you!
