I want to earn money but i want to work at home. I also don't have a bank account. I don't have an adult to ask this kind of stuff about. Anyways, is there any possible way I can earn money at home while not having a bank account? Do I even need a bank account?

Hi Juls,

Your profile says you are in the Philippines, so I am not sure exactly how it works in your region, but can give you some general advice.

When I was young, I worked as a babysitter, where I did not work at home, but I was paid in cash. Since I was paid in cash, I didn't need a bank account to use my income. For most jobs that were a little bit more full-time or stable, at least in the US where I grew up, they pay you with checks, which is basically a piece of paper that a bank (or sometimes, store fronts) can cash for you. For the most part, you would probably need a bank account to cash checks made with a job. There may be some online jobs you could find, but those likely would also want to pay you with checks (or direct deposit, which means that they put the check right into your bank account). Perhaps, you could reach out to a local business to see if they need any help with work you're qualified to do. Keep in mind, most types of jobs you can do from home tend to be computer-based.

Hope that helps a bit, congratulations on thinking about your future!

Hi Juls,

Check the resources that you have if you want to work at home. If you have a stable connection and laptop or desktop, you can explore drop shipping, online selling or even virtual assistant jobs. There's a lot of resources available in YouTube "university". You can also join remote work or freelancing groups in FB pages.
If you don't have resources yet, be willing to get out of your home and take on something else. Just to share, when I was a student like you, I do part-time job in Divisoria during vacation. We sell school supplies back then.
Above everything, check your priorities first. What is your priority? To learn or to earn? If you need to earn to support your learning, try to find scholarships, first. If not, then explore part-time jobs.
In terms of bank accounts, there are digital banks like CIMB, Tonik, ING that you can open or you can go to the nearest available bank to open your account. You can ask for options available for students.

Hope these helps and regards to your endeavors!

Thank you comment icon Hi Juls, walang minimum amount sa mga digital banks. :) The most common is the CIMB, if you have Gcash, use the Gsave. Joselyn Racusa

Hi,

I think nowadays a bank account is quite a requirement and is a safe place to keep your money and it's not difficult even to open an account just visit any known bank branch nearby and they will help you with the opening account. Just be assured that the bank has goodwill and brand value.

If still, you are not comfortable there are some jobs that offer cash as a tutor, you can open a creche facility at your own house, or dog care where you can charge for keeping the dogs when the owner is busy or out somewhere.

Nowadays in India, we have begun with a cloud kitchen concept, where being at your home you can run a restaurant that does not require physical presence and you can earn by just cooking and making it delivered. You can tie up with any food delivery app with minimal registration cost and become an owner of a restaurant or there is work from home Data Feeding job openings where they just send their work via email and expect you to complete it within a day and you been paid for your work end of the week or end of every month, likewise there are many work from home job requirement if you search online.

Hope this information helps you... Good Luck and stay connected!!
