Parth’s Answer

Hi Myo Min,
That's a great question. Coding is important irrespective of the industry. The base of the coding is to make life easier.
E.g. if a task takes a lot of time then coding will help you to reduce the time and automate tasks.
Certain repetitive tasks can be reduced or taken care of using coding. If you intend to start your own venture and have to start a website, coding will be helpful. If there is a lot of data, it is difficult to look at it manually, so coding helps.

I would highly encourage you to look at online courses on coding and you can learn the programming language of your choice. Get certifications and keep learning new skills as Eddy mentioned.

Good luck and happy to answer any questions you may have !

Good question, Myo Min. Coding is essential in this world of technology, as computers alone are no smarter or useful than a handful of sand. It is with skillful coding alone that brings the monster to life. Every line of code contributes either to a useful system or to chaos. Look at any good website and you will see that the unknown coders designed and coded it to respond to your interests and let you use the website as intended by you. That is not an accident. Recently, I spent a day modifying a paragraph on a webpage to change color, invoke slight movement, and cause the text on that paragraph to be easily highlighted for effect by the viewer. Was it necessary? No, the paragraph was already readable, but this small coding change ensure the paragraph would be read, and that was the goal. Good coding is at a low level, a level that lets you see microlevel activity within the website. Earlier websites were just HTML and that worked for simple transmission of text, but websites do far more today. Thanks for asking. In 1995, a person could learn HTML and do websites, but now many websites require only a smattering of HTML knowledge, or none at all.

Eddy’s Answer

Coding or programming consists of the functional building blocks that support and drive enterprises of all sizes and across all industries. Whether an application is used for monitoring networks or systems (infrastructure) or run business applications like accounts payable or human resource functions, they generally all have one common purpose: to ingest and process data, and in doing so, transform these data into meaningful (and insightful) information.

Today there are many different coding languages, some of which are very new like those used on AI platforms, and others that still run the major operations of large companies and governments - COBOL, for example. From apps on mobile devices to "cloud-native" apps used in public clouds - Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform. IBM Cloud, Oracle Cloud and SAP Cloud, to name some of the top players, coders have a wide range of programming language selections to choose from regarding specialization.

Explore the possibilities and pick your passion. Your coding skills will always be in demand. Stay fresh and adaptable. Become digitally multilingual!

Janardan’s Answer

Hi Myo Min,

Your question is very timely. It is a coincidence due to two reasons.
Coding is important only to tell human intent to computers. Last 2 - 3 years there have been tools and products that are "Low Code" or "No Code" categories. Which means, you can build software and achieve your goal, as simple as arranging lego blocks.
Secondly, breakthroughs like ChatGPT, will help humans translate natural language to code / programming language that machines understand.

My guess is, while ability to express your intent and goal is essential. The whole need for "coding" traditional way, might become optional.

The way GUI has made it simple for humans to interact, ChatGPT equivalent will make it further easy to interact with computers/systems.
