When I worked in product engineering at Ford there wasn't a typical day! but to give you some idea an conceptual day was 20% meetings 10% documenting progress and 70% working towards product validation and and performance, functional performance was key and at the same time complexity and cost were questions being raised by managers. Some roles are 100% activity related, running test equipment, building and operating test environments and trials. You will need to collaborate with others, when products get complicated they require team expertise. Depending on the size of the company and the products lots change, manufacturing is always exciting as lot's needs to happen and things are always changing requiring activity and problem solving skills.
