What is the best way to promote yourself and your education to ensure that you stand out when starting a career?

I have been investing an immense amount of time to my studies in order to be better qualified than others competing for the same job or career. Because of this, it would be nice to get insight on ways to stand out from the crowd.

In my opinion the best way to stand out is to be engaged and knowledgeable in your chosen field. It is also just as important to listen to others allowing you time to learn for years of experience. When you speak out, you want to be confident and will to listen to others with a difference in opinion. This is sometimes difficult when you are passionate about what you are speaking to. Being team oriented is also a way to stand out as it takes a team of people individual ideas and solutions to make a positive impact in any business. I highly recommend getting involved with a non -profit either on campus or off-campus that is an area you are passionate about. Use your skills you are learning in school to help them either by offering your services (social media, marketing, development) or starting a school chapter. Second, I would look to augment your college courses with online courses that are offered for free my many companies via their website or even LINKEDIN Learning .
