How do i stay inspired?
I'm in the 11th grade and i want to go into business after college. How do i stay consistent?

Strive to improve in one small way each day. It could be reading an extra paragraph from a book, waking up just five minutes earlier, or taking a short walk. When you look back after a week or a month, you'll see your progress and feel motivated to continue your journey of self-improvement!

It's good that you are thinking about this. The world is always changing and there's always something new being invented. Therefore, it's important to keep learning to stay current. The good news is, you already know how to do this and you do it every day without even thinking about it.
Maybe you play video games. When you first started playing, everything was new. You had to figure out how the controller worked and you had to figure out how to navigate the game and do the stuff in the game to earn points. The more you did this, the better you got. With each new level of the game, you had to learn something new. You got to use the skills and knowledge you learned early on, but you had to add to it to get to the next level. And, as you got better, you probably started sharing tips with others to help them be successful.
It works the same in business. When you enter the business world, you'll have some skills that you learned in college and you will apply those skills to your job. While you are working, you'll get offered some opportunities to try something new which means learning something new. And, the longer you are in business, the more you will learn. In business, a lot of your learning takes place by doing something. So, kind of like the video game where you learn by doing tasks in the game, in business, you learn by doing different tasks.
Other ways to continue learning once you are out of school are:
1. Read books and articles about things that interest you. Right now, AI (Artificial Intelligence) is new and it's a big thing. Everyone is learning about AI right now and searching out ways to better understand AI and what it means for them. I work for a tech company, so right now, I'm reading and gathering a lot of information about AI and talking with others who are doing the same.
2. Go to business conferences (this one can be really fun) - There are different conferences that happen in different parts of the world to focus on different things. At these conferences, there are different experts that give presentations about a specific topic. There are also panel discussions where experts share ideas about a specific topic. Often there are different booths where you can learn about products from different companies. There's almost always some kind of party with food and music. And often, there's someone famous that performs to close the conference. (This week Alicia Keys is performing to close a conference. And last year Snoop Dogg was the performer to close a different conference).
3. Join a professional group that has members of business. You get to know others who do what you do and you can share ideas and learn from each other. You can even learn how people do the same thing you do in other companies. The professional group might have conferences or online discussion groups where you can learn from other people's experiences.
4. Invest time in training on specific skills. Most companies have money set aside for their employees to learn new skills or improve current skills. Work with your manager (once you start working) to identify different courses (usually 1 to 5 days) that focus on a specific skill (leadership, teambuilding, budget management) and participate in those courses.
Stay curious about the world and look for opportunities to continue to learn. Some things just kind of happen and you've learned something new. Other times, you need to go out and look for something and sign up to participate.

Hi Billy. This is a great question and I love that you know what you want to do. I have a dual degree in Accounting and Management so it's exciting to hear you want to pursue Business. My suggestions are to stay focused on your grades and any extracurricular activities that you participate in as that is what most colleges and universities look at first. Start to think about what type of business you want to explore. I loved math and took some Accounting classes in high school and fell in love with it. I'm also a "people person" and knew I want to manage others so I had a part time job in High School where I managed kids younger than me. This experience in high school prepared me so that I could hit the ground running when I got to college as I already knew what degrees I wanted to pursue. Best of luck to you!

Inspiration may seem fleeting and elusive at times, but remember, it's your daily habits that shape your actions and determine your impact. As a high school student, you're in the perfect position to start building positive habits, particularly in the business realm. I encourage you to surround yourself with people who share your ambitions, seek out mentors in your desired industry, and begin learning about the field, business, or product that piques your interest. By doing these things, you'll soon discover that inspiration can be drawn from everything around you. There's no magic formula, just trust in your daily routines and actions to guide your progress.
When choosing a mentor, feel free to examine their successes and failures in life and business before deciding to emulate them.

That's a great question. When I started, I asked many questions of people I knew, including teachers, parents, brothers, sisters, and other relatives. I was always curious; I also tried different hobbies, and I got into reading books, comics, short stories, and lots and lots of music. As time passed, I found that I would get inspired by always wanting to know more and explore more. For me it was not a formal exercise as much as it was about just finding new cool things that made me happy. Look for things that make you happy, dig a little deeper, and chances are you will keep looking for more =)
