Noah’s Answer

Hi Alex! I think it is great that you aspire to have a successful business career.

I think early in your career it is important to create educational goals to develop important skills. An important quality for any professional to have is the willingness to be a lifelong learner. If you develop high quality study habits and skills now, you will keep them for the rest of your career.
Another goal you could set for yourself is developing and maintaining professional relationships. Good relationships often lead to opportunities to further advance your career. Be sure to leverage your personal network, this can include your family and your friends!
One more goal to consider is seeking out opportunities to be a leader. The ability to lead is often a requirement to advance within professional organizations. An example of a leadership opportunity for someone in grade nine might be to take the lead on a group project.

Hello Alex,

To achieve a great business career, setting the following goals is essential:

Education and Knowledge: Pursue a solid education, preferably in business or a related field. A bachelor’s or master’s degree from a reputable university can provide a strong foundation in business principles and practices. Continuous learning through workshops, seminars, and industry certifications is also crucial to staying updated with the latest trends and developments.

Networking: Build a strong professional network by connecting with peers, mentors, industry experts, and potential employers. Attend industry events, join professional organizations, and engage in online communities to expand your network and learn from others’ experiences.

Skills Development: Acquire essential skills for success in business such as communication, problem-solving, leadership, adaptability, and time management. Developing these skills will help you excel in various roles and situations throughout your career.

Experience: Gain practical experience through internships, part-time jobs, or volunteer work while still in school. This experience will provide valuable insights into the business world and help you build a strong resume for future job applications.

Work Ethic: Maintain a strong work ethic by being dedicated, reliable, and committed to your goals. Demonstrating these qualities will help you stand out from your peers and make a positive impact on any organization you join.

Adaptability: Be open to change and willing to adapt to new situations and technologies as they emerge in the business world. Embracing new challenges will help you grow both personally and professionally throughout your career.

Professionalism: Conduct yourself with integrity, honesty, and respect towards colleagues, clients, and employers at all times. Maintaining high ethical standards will build trust within your professional network and contribute to long-term success in your career.*
