Whitney’s Answer

There are so many ways you can go about this and be successful, but beginning with what kind of business you'd like to start is key. From there, try to intern with someone who has done this successfully if possible. Social media in this environment is also your best friend. Create the brand you want to portray as well as your own personal brand, and stick to that on social media. Get the word out by having your friends and your network post about your company, too. Last but not least, surround yourself with people who have done this and can provide advice along the way. You can learn from not only their successes but also their failures and struggles.

Hopefully this is helpful, and best of luck to you!

Suvebah’s Answer

For any successful business start-up you have to make sure you are going in after doing your homework.

Ask yourself what kind of business are you interested in?
What will be cost of opening that business (consider permit and licenses, real estate, employee payroll, inventory and other overhead costs)?
What will be your source of financing?
How will you market your business? It is one of the most essential components of business success.
Create a business plan.

You may also consider working with a consultant that can not only help you navigate through the process of starting your beauty business but also provide leadership and management coaching.

Louis D.’s Answer

First decide what part of the beauty business you are interested in pursuing. Is it creating and selling cosmetic products? Owning a hair salon? Starting a beauty school?

After your decision, seek a mentor in the field and pursue potential training with that mentor.

From a school perspective, definitely pursue courses about starting and maintaining a business.

Finally, surround yourself with authentic people and these persons will provide positive encouragement and constructive criticism on your journey to meet and sustain your goal. If you have people who do not fit this criteria; then, you may want to avoid speaking with them about your goal.
