Angela’s Answer

Great question! I'm surrounded by high performing individuals every day and what I see in the most successful are the following characteristics:

1) a calm demeanor, they handle change well, and they can navigate a fast-paced environment easily (or they make it seem easy from an outward appearance)
2) They stay away from drama and don't create drama
3) They present themselves well in front of others and can work with many different types of personalities with no issues
4) They go back and forth between being a leader and being a team player and they know which is appropriate based on the task at hand, no need to have a big ego
5) They hold themselves accountable for getting their work done independently and ask for more work when they are slow, they do not need or want to be micro-managed
6) They welcome feedback and want to grow professionally
7) They are upfront and honest in their communication with others

Best of luck to you as you navigate your studies and future career opportunities!

Saroniel’s Answer

Hey Rodgers
Great question; I would say there is no silver bullet. It depends on where you want to go and what you want to do. However, the one skill I have found to be a requirement, regardless of your career choice, is building, managing, and maintaining relationships. Think about it; you can have all the best tech, tactical, and intellectual skills possible. But it will be twice as hard to succeed if you can't work with and through others collaboratively and constructively. In my experience, the secret has always been about people, learning to listen, constructively resolving conflict, bridging ideas, and building others up to win as a team. Yes, you should absolutely look to enhance your capabilities but remember, nothing gets accomplished without other people.

Yuritza G’s Answer

Hello!!! In today's rapidly changing world, there are a few key skills that stand out as both valuable and high-paying. First off, let's talk about tech skills. Things like coding, web development, data analysis, and cybersecurity are super value right now. Companies are willing to pay top dollar for folks who can navigate the digital landscape like a pro. It's like being fluent in a language everyone wants to speak!

Next up, let's chat about soft skills. These are the ones that might not involve a computer screen but are just as crucial. Think communication, problem-solving, leadership, and creativity. Being able to work well with others, think outside the box, and tackle challenges head-on can take you far in any career path. These skills are like the glue that holds teams together and helps businesses thrive.

Last but not least, let's not forget about specialized knowledge. Whether it's in finance, medicine, law, or any other field, having deep expertise in a specific area can really pay off. It's like becoming the go-to guru in your niche. People will seek out your advice and expertise, and companies will be willing to compensate you handsomely for it. So, whether you're a tech whiz, a master communicator, or an expert in your field, honing these skills can pave the way to success and those coveted high-paying opportunities.

Best of luck!!!

Pam’s Answer

Excellent query! Focus on honing your strengths and enhancing the necessary skills to boost their value. Picture yourself charting your personal accomplishments, distilling them down to two, and then identifying ways to amplify those capabilities. The concept I'm suggesting is to cherish your innate talent(s) as that's where you'll shine in your profession and consequently achieve financial prosperity. If you keep expanding that skill with the aid of technology, self-improvement, and adaptability, these qualities will ensure your future happiness. Concentrating on your ultimate personal goal can make the often challenging learning journey more manageable. Enjoy your voyage!

Pam recommends the following next steps:

Talk with those is your potential field and ask what their recommended path is.
Be focused on your goal but be flexible to make adjustments in that direction.
