Hi, Marco,

How cool to aspire to be a surgeon! In time, that question will matter more. Right now, if you’re in high school, study science, English, and math. In college there are requirements for getting into any medical school. There are many good medical schools and once there advisers will help you apply to residencies for surgery. That path takes upwards of 12 years of study after high school.

Also, ask your guidance counselor how to talk to people who work in the medical field. I was interested in medicine and ended up as a mental health counselor once I learned more. Good luck!
