What made you wan to pursue your current career?

I was at HP and started as a Receptionist, moved to Administrative Support, then Graphic Design supprort Marketing Communications, and project coordinator. After a company-wide layoff, I had to focus on one position, and decided to work towards the role of Sr. Executive Assistant to C-Level Executives (Chief Executive Office, Chief Operations Office, etc.). The decision was because this is the role I am best at, get the most compliments on, and enjoyed doing the most! It's a busy role, but you have to have a positive attitude and enjoy helping others.

It is never an easy question to answer because our interests and dreams may change as we get older and more mature. But one thing is for sure, you always have that good feeling about something you do, and you know that you do it very well , for example, I've always been a super motivated person, I've always liked to learn new things, I've always like to make new friends, when I was in a group I had a natural way of leading it, I was curious, It felt great talking in front of people. Now I work in the commercial area and it is perfect for me!
To make a decision of what you want to become, my tip is to first look inside of you. What are the things you really feel great and confident when doing? And then start to think of it when choosing your career. I'm not saying you can't try something completely different, I'm just telling you that the answer might come more easily if you start looking inside of your personality.

Choosing a career path is difficult. When I was in my early 20's and studying towards my Bachelor degree, I was working towards a career in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science. Now, I'm working towards my Masters in Higher Education and am employed at a local college. It's a tricky thing, finding the right career to pursue. For me, it fell into my lap but I know I always had a passion for working within the education field. One of the main driving forces behind this was to work with students and help guide them in the right direction.

You have to find an area you're passionate about. A dream job you could see yourself waking up and going to most days. Once you find that, you'll know the career path to pursue. It takes time so have patience!

Search different careers you may be interested in (even the crazy far fetched ones)
Make a pros and cons list of each position
