Hi Heather, the good news is it's not always necessary to have a related degree in order to get a job. I think your ISTQB certificate will definitely help you in gaining employment, but I'd encourage you to focus on getting the job and learning first, rather than on earning a specific salary. This is because maybe you'll make less than you desire, but a specific company may offer more vacation days or may be more flexible on start times etc. With that being said, again my research shows the average salary for an entry-level tester varies from $30,000-$60,000 depending again on location. So again, if this is really the field you're passionate about, then focus on that passion first, and your salary second... just my advice though :). Have a great day!

Hey Heather - The salary range is going to vary by company. Regardless of what position you are looking at, it is important to focus on the entire offer with a company and not just the salary. Other things to consider are health benefits, 401K match, bonus structure, merit structure (annual raise), stock options, vacation, etc. If you get stuck on just the salary, you may not end up with the most lucrative option. A company that is offering a larger salary but minimal benefits may not fair as well on an annual basis as a company that is offering less of a salary with more benefits.

According to Glassdoor.com - the salary can range from $50K - $90K. There are lots of great job available for Agile testers depending on the location and industry. As few other people have mentioned in their answers, don't focus on the salary alone. Some companies have great benefits that outweighs the salary. I hope this helps.

Hi Heather, that really depends on your degree, years of experience, and where you're willing to live in the States. With that being said, my research indicates that the salaries average $70,000 - $120,000. I hope that helps!

Thank you comment icon This seems to be on the high end. I used to do user acceptance testing for a major telecommunications company and testers were not paid anywhere close to this; at least not as employees of the company. Maybe as a contractor you might get closer to $70K, but that normally comes at the cost without benefits, vacation, etc. Rae Gibbs

Hi Heather - The Agile methodology is a way to manage a project by breaking it up into several phases. It involves constant collaboration with stakeholders and continuous improvement at every stage.
I would go to GlassDoor.com and that would help you with the range. And the compensation would depend on the experience and expertise too.
