What college classes should you take to become a personal trainer?

My back up plan is become a personal trainer so I wanted to know what courses I should take for that career. #physical #physical-trainer #physical-fitness #career #college #career-counseling

Thank you comment icon Yes getting some fitness certificates is definitely recommended. Actually, I think taking some classes on nutrition science, physical education and health promotion can provide you some basic understanding on fitness training. Jennifer

Hello,

You can take online certifications or find out what certifications are available in your home town. I recommend studying exercise science or kinesiology. Personal trainers assess their customers' bodily strengths and weaknesses and create customized workout plans. They provide physical and mental guidance and monitor customers' progress on a regular basis. They also make sure that customers don't get injured while training.

Types or certifications:
NASM-CPT, NSCA-CPT, and ACSM-CPT.

Good luck!

Aaron recommends the following next steps:

Make sure you are physically fit. Appearance determines how many clients you can attract
Promote yourself on Instagram or Tik Tok to build up a following
You can also enter training competitions
Keep a positive mental attitude

Exercise science, health promotion, nutrition and athletic training, etc. I would also recommend getting certified by a fitness organization such as ACE or NASM.

A personal trainer is an individual who has earned a certification that demonstrates they have achieved a level of competency for creating and delivering safe and effective exercise programs for apparently healthy individuals and groups or those with medical clearance to exercise. They motivate clients by collaborating to set goals, providing meaningful feedback, and by being a reliable source for accountability.
A number of certifications are available in the U.S. Most require a high school diploma, but having Bachelors degree in sport sciences makes it easier to clear tests.,cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillator (AED) certification, and some type of examination. The United States Registry of Exercise Professionals (USREPS) is the official registry of exercise professionals in the United States
The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) or the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) certification) facilities only accept personal trainers with certifications recognized by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) if recognized either by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the U.S. Department of Education (USDE). As of now, NASM, ISSA, AFAA, ACSM, ACE, and NSCA certifications are among the 16 accredited certifications recognized by IHRSA (International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association)

Hi There,

Based on my research, most personal trainers have a high school diploma, and many employers are now requiring that trainers also have a bachelor's degree in a related field such as kinesiology or exercise science. You can work as a personal trainer with an associate degree. If you decide to earn your bachelor's degree, you'll take courses in kinesiology and sports management while the master's degree program includes more advanced courses like applied statistics, sport psychology and motor development.
