You need to see what type of shop you can afford, rent space or buy a building and do a budget and save, it is what your finances show. Money over how long.

I really admire your entrepreneurial spirit. There are many quick and easy ways to start your own hair salon. Many cities now have companies that provide small affordable suites where you can create your own salon. The suites are private but the common areas are shared which means you pay less for salon equipment since your monthly lease covers use of shared equipment / facilities. This has really worked out great for my personal stylist who transitioned from a traditional salon.


The amount of time required to save the money is really dependent on how much you can afford to set aside now. In addition, you will incur some additional expenses related to purchasing your own products and hiring staff.
