Is there any practical overlap between environmental science and genetics?

Defining "practical overlap" is difficult but I think there is. Most clearly, see the recent work on if/why there is a increase in malformed FISH/frogs; this evaluates if there truly is an increase and if so, are there any relevant genes/genetic pathways that might be affected by any relevant/ascertained environmental exposures to lead to the physical finding. Some sociobiology/evolutionary studies use environmental/genetic interactions to determine if/why a particular physical trait/disease become predominant. Finally, consider recent articles about "is that really what you ordered" regarding businesses' use of alternate/substitute meat and FISH and cheese products --those are based on genetic comparisons.
