Where do you go for computer networking news?

I'm a student working on my CCNA certification, and something that I've learned in my research about the field is that keeping up with the latest technology and practices is important to be competitive, something I'm particularly concerned about since a bachelor's is likely not in the cards for me. Can anyone recommend an accessible source for industry news?

NANOG - North America Network Operators Group. It was born from a public email list that goes back decades. Anyone can join, and the archives are public. What's more, is that as a formal organization, it holds conferences ~3 times a year. All of the content is public. Several companies - often ISP's and other network service providers - and academics present there.

Packet Pushers - started as a geeky networker's podcast, now it's a full-blown website and content service. They have several periodic podcasts, including a weekly "Network Break." Great place for relevant news if you're growing into the networking world that often starts with a CCNA... assuming you can tolerate the hosts.
Thank you comment icon I'll check both of these out! I've been looking for podcast recommendations anyway, so this is great! Thanks Paul! Michael

Samuel’s Answer

To keep yourself informed with news, I would suggest creating a filter within Google News with topics related to networking such as computer network or network security.

I would also recommend following blogs and webs like
https://blogs.cisco.com/
https://www.networkcomputing.com/topic/networking
https://www.networkworld.com/
Thank you comment icon That makes sense, I'll try that! Michael

Hassan’s Answer

https://www.networkworld.com/ and https://www.networkcomputing.com/ have lots of info. Other more general sites have networking sections like https://www.computerworld.com/category/networking/ or https://www.infoworld.com/category/networking/

I'd do some research to see if Cisco certification is still the most valuable and the right path for you. According to https://www.businessnewsdaily.com/10704-networking-certifications.html Cisco cert was listed in the most job postings.
Thank you comment icon Thanks Hassan! I can't wait to check these out. I'll definitely be doing a lot of research on what the best path is. Michael

Storage Networking Industry Association (https://www.snia.org/ https://sniansfblog.org/) I do follow this website to stay updated with the SAN/network-storage-protocols applications in storage/data-centers. They have education section.
