Correct. There are so many non-broadcast meteorology jobs out there. There are many in the government (The National Weather Service, NOAA, National Hurricane Center, Storm Prediction Center...). Also airlines and energy companies hire meteorologists. The film industry can at times too.
There are a host of private meteorology companies out there as well. Broadcast is just one branch of a large tree.
