what subjects should i take in IGCSE if i want to be an interior designer? I am answering IGCSE next year and I want to be an interior designer. But I’m confusing with which subjects should I take . I’m not good at in physics and chemistry. I want to avoid taking those subjects . Will it be okay ? And I’m also interested in business. So I need some suggestions.

Being an interior designer is moderate in algebra and geometry (because you will be figuring out distances and sizes) learn the metric system really well for measuring, but doesn't really have anything to do with physics or chemistry unless you plan to create your own dyes for fabric (which most ID don't need to do) knowledge of ART and art styles will be helpful to gain advantage over how to style to sophistcate tastes. Interior design uses skills such as being able to talk to people and determine what they are seeking in the way of design, it also means you would need to develope a personal style for yourself as well as others. Some basic knowledge of construction and carpentry may help so you know what may be needed to build a specific piece of furniture or install blinds. What I would suggest for schooling is Art courses, there should be an interior design course set as you can major in it in most schools that have a course sylabus to follow - the basics you should have to take for college are the basics: English (writing and Speech)/Math (algebra and geometry)/Humanities (Socialogy and Ethics)/History and some kind of electives which is usually the art/music etc equalling upto 90 credit hours which in theory will be an associates degree - these should all be done in your first two years, with your last two years being a career focused courses (an additioinal course hours of another 30 to 60 credits depending on your major.) The basics are the same across the board regardless of wether you want to major in business or design. In business you will want to focus on technology courses, with minors in HR, Marketing and Management of Business. You may note that a business degree requires trigenometry for statistics which is usually a requirement for a business degree.

Getting your basic courses done first is best, you typically need to take Math, English and Science. Take all electives that you can to round out your learning, courses like: art classes, graphic design, intro to business and creative writing will help you with an Interior Design degree. There are also many online schools that you can apply to, to obtain an Interior Design degree. Good Luck!
