It was both enjoyable and frustrating for me as a former barista. What I recommend is that you be prepared for problems and have a basic understanding of them. Also, be enthusiastic about it and enjoy what you're doing.

Being a barista can be really fun, fast-paced, and also challenging in a stressful environment. A big aspect of the job is providing top-notch customer service and a friendly positive attitude while being able to manage your time effectively. If you can, practice taking orders (writing them down is fine!), making change or handling credit cards, and making drinks.
