what is the highest level education for homeland security?

do you just need a high school diploma and ged or do you have to go to college for years?

There are jobs that only require GED but I would expect that higher level position will require Bachelor or even Masters degrees.

The required level of education depends on the type of job in homeland security and the responsibilities. I have a Ph.D. and worked in homeland security for a number of years. Hourly workers many have a high school degree, GED, or less. As with most fields, the more education you get, the more opportunities there are, and usually the higher the responsibilities and pay. Certainly a 4-year college degree opens up far more opportunities in security management.
