What are the best types of photos and images to use in your own personal brand?

I would like my brand to reflect who I really am. How can I do so, if I don't have high-quality photos of myself? Is it appropriate to use stock images?

Hi there!

I think you could have a personal brand without professional photos (although they always help!). I would start by creating a mood board of things that you're drawn to - colors, images, quotes, artwork - etc. Connect the dots on this mood board. What kind of vibes are you getting? What are some words that are coming to mind when you see all of these together? Write those words down. That is the basis for your brand.

From there, I would think about what the purpose of your brand is. What audience is it serving? What field of work do you hope to get into? What kind of clients do you want? You will attract whatever you put out in your brand. If you're not sure, you can start somewhere by writing down some industries that sound interesting and evolve your brand over time as you learn more about them.

You can also take a look at other people's personal brands and see how you might stand out. What would make you different amongst your peers?

Hope this is helpful and best wishes!

Use your artwork or project that's your personal favorite!
Stock images are typically a huge no no if you want to promote yourself in the long run. So if you don't have a good photo of yourself (I personally hate my photos being taken) then use your favorite artwork or project and crop your favorite section of that image. Sometimes artist make self portrait of themselves and use that as their brand/profile image.

Sweety, Always remember to be true to yourself. First take some notes ( I’m a big note taker) - those notes should be every attribute you want expressed in your brand - shouldn’t be hard cause it’s defining everything about yourself right? Not always …. So it’s okay for this to take some time . Nothing is worth being done in a hurry if it’s not done correct with passion , and expressive … speaking of your pics. If you would rather have a realistic branding line - take pics of yourself , get some family and friends maybe. Have them be captured with something that has to do with everything you want included. So what if they aren’t top. Notch , doctor them up some. But not too much people admire being more humble and original when it comes to that and you know what you can be as picky as you want cause this is your baby !!!
* knowledge is power
* only spend your time on something you truly believe in
* Branding to me is a direct reflection by the artist or designer in their eyes !
You got this !!
