Double job?

Is anyone a teacher and a real estate agent on here? If so, I would like to ask has it been an easy balance and do you make good money?

I’m not a teacher but I have a full time job during the day (8-5). Weekends and evenings I focus a lot on real estate. I won’t lie and say it’s not hard, because it’s hard. I make good money on both sides. And when I get leads for real estate I really have to filter which business can I cultivate and which can I filter out to refer to another agent. During the day if I get showing requests I would get another agent to do the showing for me. If I get a call from anyone during the day, I answer during my breaks. Most people don’t know about my 8-5 so they will assume I’m with other clients until I answer.

Hi Ryley I was a teacher in the U.K. and I when I was younger I also sold property. Being a teacher isn’t a 9-5 job and requires a lot of extra work outside of these hours. Although the education system in the US is slightly different to the U.K. in terms of qualifications, I often read that teachers in the US have the same pressures and lack of time. It would be difficult to try and do both unless you were part time at both I guess. Even then the teaching part has a tendency to take over. Hope that helps!

I am the Broker of a large office and have a few agents who are full time teachers. I have several who have retired teaching and are now full time agents, and a couple who quit teaching and are full time. I have many agents who have 2 full time jobs (Real Estate and thierother job). It is possible, especially if you can find a Brokerage like mine that has amazing support for it's agents. With a large office it provides opportunity for an agent who is busy (working) to ask fi anyone is available to show their client a home or 2 later in the day, or the next day etc. It is very possible and you can be very successful if you have the right drive and mindset. You'll get out, what you put in.
