Cybersecurity specifically, I do love it.

I studied in Computer Information Systems and got myself into a career in the cybersecurity field. In my opinion, investing time on this is worth it financially since there is demand and opportunities available for cybersecurity.

I just wanted to bring it out as I do not regret my decision. I'm hoping STEM will be very rewarding for you in the long-run.

I love working in the STEM field, it has been rewarding financially for the time I spent in school to qualify for positions. There are so many opportunities for innovation, ideation and design thinking as well. You can also even manage teams in STEM to move up in companies as a leader.

Great question, in my experience pursuing a STEM related education and career will provide you the greatest number of career options which in turn will allow you to choose the path that is best for you both personally and financially. A STEM background should open you up to a number of options across business, academia public sector etc. and provide you a high degree of career satisfaction.

Pursuing a career in STEM is very promising as there are many options & opportunities. And when you do get a STEM job, it can be very competitive, so you would always need to be on top of your game to get an edge. Most every day will be very productive so it's really a very fulfilling career to get into.

I work with several college recruits who specialize in STEM skills, and one of the things they've mentioned that they love about it is the flexibility it provides to explore different businesses. Whether it's a technology company like AT&T, a transportation company like American Airlines, or even a retail company like Nordstrom, they all need technical professionals to create and maintain tool, applications, and websites. It's a very agile skill to have that can provide broad choices. STEM jobs also typically pay very well and are always in demand and I feel that demand will continue to be relevant as our world becomes even more digital.

The time investment in STEM is definitely worth it. Every industry is impacted in some way by STEM. From the software used to write the next great novel, to the production of the packaging of the newest beauty trend, to the chemical composition of the film used in lighting a Broadway show - it was all touched by someone in STEM. Because of that, the amount of flexibility and opportunities for growth & development are all around. I began my career as a Chemical Engineer and now work as Technical Business Manager at AT&T. The beauty of STEM are the transferrable skills that you'll learn and develop that are marketable in any industry.

Yes, the time investment for me in a STEM career has definitely been a great learning experience and worth it for me . The focus for me is more on where my passion is and not too much on the financial component. I have worked in areas that were well paid but also highly stressful and not personally satisfying to me. When you find what you truly love it energizes you to show up great every day. Take the time to be curious and explore all your options to really find what motivates you to be your best self. Investing in a STEM education has definitely paid off for me personally and financially. Even if you do not know what you want to do in the next 10, 20 years or whether you want to switching careers in the future, going with STEM field will give you the opportunities, and you will have many more choices compared to other paths. STEM majors like mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and computer science often are cited on lists of the most valuable college majors, the majors most likely to lead to jobs and even most popular majors.
