What are some good colleges for Computer Science Majors?

I'm a 17-year-old Junior living in San Francisco. I'd heavily prefer to stay in California for my college experience.

Hello Jessica,

It looks like you are in the perfect state for Computer Science!

Here is a simple list of colleges that offer Computer Science degrees. I would suggest you look each one up, individually, and then assess their admissions requirements, tuition (if that is important to you or your parents), the location, and program attributes.

Each program requires a different set of criteria for admission (letters of recommendation, essays, extracurricular activities, GPA, etc). Additionally, each program may follow different Computer Science concentrations; it’s best to choose a program in line with your particular preferences/career path.

1. UC Berkeley
2. Stanford
3. USC
4. UC-San Diego
5. UC- Irvine
6. UC- Santa Barbara
7. UC- Santa Cruz
8. Harvey Mudd College
9. San Diego State University
10. Cal State - Fullerton
