How much does it cost to go to college for 4 years?

The reason I am asking is that I know college is expensive and I would love to know how much it will cost before I start college. #Costforcollege

Just adding to the answer already given above, a popular and common option is to first go to a local community college, and transfer to a four-year university after one or two years. Many four-year schools accept credits for required general education (GE) courses, and these are classes that can be taken at community colleges usually for a much lower cost.

College costs will range dramatically based on the college. Your cost will also depend on whether you live at home, live on campus, what kind of degree materials you need (textbooks, lab equipment, etc). Colleges are required to have a net cost calculator on their website so you can go to each of the colleges you're interested in and use the calculator to help figure out what their costs are. Keep in mind that many colleges give financial aid even for people who aren't eligible for federal financial aid so it is always worth it to ask the school you're interested in about their financial aid policies. Your high school's guidance office can probably give you more information as well and connect you to groups that help kids and families plan for paying for college. Good luck!
