What should I do to pursue a career in modeling and criminology in college?
I'm in my last year of high school going to college this fall and ever since I was younger I always wanted to model.

Hello, Mariama !
It is so wonderful that you have two career interests ! And to think that you will soon graduate high school is marvelous ! Your two professional interests are not very compatible, however you can make some choices as to how to go about it.
First, decide which you like better and have more of a drive towards, Criminology or Modeling. Which one do you have experience in or want to learn for a future career ? Unfortunately, you wouldn't be able to do both as a career. I would advise going to college and obtaining a degree in Criminology but read more about the profession first before you decide.
The reason why you would not be able to do both is because Modeling is very time consuming and sometimes you do not know the length per day of your projects or how many days or the locations and you would have to be 100% ready and available for that type of work. It wouldn't even be compatible with a college schedule. Modeling is very satisfying and a lot of long hours and hard work and you'd basically have to have a clear schedule every day dedicated to only modeling. Plus you do not get every project that you go see a company for.
Criminology on the other hand has a smooth academic study path and is also exciting and offers a career with a 40 hour week. You'd be working at police stations mostly, some time in the office and some time out in the field. There is a lot of information about this career on line.
So you have a choice to make and it may be a very difficult one to make. People do not become models or get work as a model because they want to. It is also a career that one must obtain training for because if an agent is to represent you, the model would have to know everything to do for every type of modeling job. That takes training and experience. If you decide to go to college to be a Criminologist, you can always seek community level modeling activity for any Fashion Shows that may be happening at your college or community venues for runway shows. Most likely they wouldn't be paid gigs, though.
I advise going to college soon after you graduate high school because it gets more difficult to do so as time goes on. You can always go to college years later if you choose, but I advise doing it while you are young so you can get your experience in and start your Criminology career while you're in your twenties. There are different ways to go with this and you will have to see what fits into your personal goals, your life at the time and which career you want to invest your time, money and dedication to.
This is my advice to you, but I also advise that you use your best judgement for your own future and make well-informed choices for the best career results. No matter what you choose, I wish you all the best going forward !
