It really depends on what level you wish to coach. The ones at the college and university levels (like NCAA Division I, Division II and Division III) have various positions of coaching. Assistant Coaches can earn anywhere from 24, 000 to 33,000 dollars a year. At some higher level Division I universities they can go as high as 50,000 per year. Some of the better programs have head coaches who can earn salaries as high as 60,000 or even 70,000 dollars a year. Much of these salaries will depend on your education, credentials and experience. I have seen some coaches have professional certifications and education which enhances their credentials and can place them in a higher levels as far as compensation. I would review the various coaching education programs at colleges and universities and also see if there are programs under USA Softball, to see if you can acquire professional coaching credentials which can assist you in enhancing your credentials and obtaining more targeted certification in your coaching profession.
