Why do I forget most the things I study,I find it difficult to remember most of the things I've studied #Spring24?

It's too challenging battling with my self to remember what I've studied 😟

Thank you comment icon Dear student, In order for me to help you more effectively, could you please let me know if you are a college student or a high school student? If you are a college student, what is your major? If you are a high school student, what grade are you in? Thank you. Vannga T.

The strategy I most commonly use to remember things is to take the information and divide it into no more than 3 main things/ideas/categories and then organize the details under the bigger categories. This law of three comes from Aristotle, and is therefore not my own idea nor a new idea.

Examples:
Beginning, Middle, End
Who, What, Why
Characters, Plot, Lessons

Hello Harrison! I can totally relate to your situation. Here's a strategy that I've found quite effective in retaining the information I learn - jotting it down. Regardless of whether it's during a lecture (even when the professor promises to send out the notes, creating my own set of notes aids my understanding) or while I'm reading a text book, the act of writing the information down significantly boosts my memory retention. So, I highly recommend you to try this method and see the difference.

Thank you for your question. Many students face similar challenge. You have to ensure you have a good revision time table and have enough rest. Firstly, you have to find a time management that suits you, e.g. Google Calendar, MS Outlook, your phone calendar, etc.
Below are my suggestions :
1. Put down the time you need to attend classes
2. Assign some time every day for your assignment and projects, Review the class materials covered in the day. If you have any question or anything not clear, ask the teacher in the next school day.
3. Make sure you have enough time to sleep and do some exercise
4. Form study groups with your classmates before assessment / exam. It can help you to deepen your memory.
5. You can allocate some time for your leisure and friend & family gathering
Hope this helps! Good Luck!
May Almighty God bless you!
