How do I get internship in the Engineering Field as a Highschooler?

I totally agree with James & Pamela's answers. But in addition I would say that you ought to get a mentor in the field of your interest. The mentor may be a friend of the family, or someone you meet during the hiring process. But the best place may be a close by Engineering University, the local Civil engineering society, church or other non professional organization. Your mentor should have knowledge or even experience with internships at this point then spend time with your mentor, discussing your professional desires and interests and the details to get to where you want to go.
