What success looks like

We want 100% of youth to finish their education ready to start careers that will have them fulfilled and energized.

Our role in that vision is to be the universally trusted source of career information that youth can turn to, and a place where they find the encouragement they need to persist in the face of adversity. (Basically, we want to be the Wikipedia of career advice, but with more enthusiasm and personality :)

Just a few years from now, all career advice seekers will know they can go to CareerVillage.org to get reliable, high-quality advice about how to become successful professionally. We'll always be "open to all", but what is really going to be game-changing is for low-opportunity youth to finally have equal access to the absolute best career information available anywhere.

Who we serve

Underrepresented youth from a wide range of backgrounds, but all of whom lack access to career advice.

The “democratizing access” in our mission statement means we exist to level the playing field. To do that, we need to help those who have the least access now. Unfortunately, there are far too many populations lacking access to career advice. Huge barriers face young people in low-income communities, young people of color trying to get into the financial services industry, young women looking to get into STEM, young Asian Americans trying to break into show business, and many other populations who are underrepresented and don’t have the access they need to have a fair shot.

Today, maybe more than ever, our youth - and in particular at-risk youth - need exposure to and guidance from leaders of industry, entrepreneurs, and professionals succeeding in the real world. CareerVillage provides that and more. After seeing it in action, it could be a game-changer.
