How can I work with Animals without doing a degree. Anyone doing this now? What was your career pathway?

For example, is there any use to a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certification specifically on a resume if you aren't applying for a job teaching English? Does it look any better on paper?

i unfortunately missed out on the school organised work experience due to covid last year and I am not too sure what to do now. What else should I do to increase my chance of getting in? Volunteering? A sport?
