2. Attend hair styling relevant courses and management courses
3. Attend hair styling relevant seminar to learn new techniques and products
4. Practice makes perfect. And, collect feedback from customers to improve
5. Identify the good location to start the business, eg people flow, local demand, competition in that area, etc

Hello Daniel! Great question. I studied Barbering as a trade in high school and my mother worked as a Master Barber for over 40-years. Here are a few of my recommendations.
1. If you have not already done so, consider enrolling in a Barbering Trade Program in order to learn the skills necessary to obtain your license as a Master Barber.
2. Invest in purchasing quality equipment such as clippers, shears, combs, etc. Quality matters!
3. Learn the rules of your local state board. Whether you are a Master Barber or just practicing, it's super important to operate according to the State Board's expectations.
4. Visit a local barber shop in your area and ask if you can observe them. Inquire about working under one of the Master Barbers in the shop as an apprentice.
5. Practice! Ask close friends and family if you can practice cutting their hair and document your progress. If you enroll in a trade school, you should begin to receive client volunteers. Practice makes perfect!
6. Keep your skills fresh by attending hair shows and networking with other barbers.
7. Once you become a licensed Master Barber and feel that you're ready to branch out into your own business you should do the following:
a. Research how to create a business plan and create a solid plan
b. Obtain a business license
c. Secure a space for your operations, such as renting a building or a small suite
d. Purchase business cards
e. Learn how to market your business on Social Media

Hello Daniel, every time that I read someone wanting to go independen, I get very pleased.
I work for a big company, and will propably retire from it in 30 more years. I will probably don't get the chance to make my own company, I love the statbility that a big company provides. However, someone like you who is young and thirsty to continue growing, is on a different road in life.
My adivce is do it NOW, don't wait, because you have the youth to work hard for it. You need to be prepared, you will have to work harder to successfully achieve it, but don't wait till "next year" because next year will never arrive. Just do it now, if you do the right things and you are passionate about it, I'm sure you'll succeed, if you don't, then you are young enough to start over again.
