Hey Anne-Sophie!

That’s so awesome that you love animals and justice! Being a police officer on horseback (often called a Mounted Police Officer) is a great career for someone like you. Since you're in 6th grade, you have plenty of time to prepare, and here are some things you can do to be the best in this career:

1. Do Well in School
Stay focused on your studies, especially in subjects like physical education (to stay strong), social studies (to understand laws and justice), and even science (to learn about animals and how they think).

2. Get Experience with Horses
Mounted police officers need to be great riders, so if you can, start learning about horses! Riding lessons, volunteering at a stable, or even just reading about horse care will help a lot.

3. Stay Active and Fit
Police officers need to be in good shape, so practice sports, running, or any activities that keep you strong and healthy.

4. Develop Leadership and Kindness
Being a good police officer isn’t just about riding horses—it’s about helping people. Try joining clubs, helping in your community, or practicing being fair and kind to others.

5. Plan Your Education
To become a mounted police officer, you'll first need to become a regular police officer. This usually means finishing high school and then either going to college or straight into police academy training.

You have a great start by knowing what you want so early! Keep working hard, learning about horses, and being the best version of yourself. You got this!

Best wishes!

Hey Anne-Sophie!

First of all—Amazing! You love animals AND justice? You were born for this! Imagine patrolling the streets like a hero in a movie, except instead of a police car, you have a majestic horse that listens to your every command (and hopefully doesn’t stop for snacks in the middle of a chase).
Now, how do you become the best mounted police officer ever? Maybe I will tag along 🤔!
So,
1. Become a Horse Whisperer – Take riding lessons, volunteer at a stable, or at least start bribing horses with carrots so they like you. A mounted officer needs to control their horse like Batman controls the Batmobile!
2. Stay Fit & Strong – Riding a horse all day is no joke. Your legs will be like steel, but you've got to build up endurance too. Maybe start by racing your friends at recess? Winner gets bragging rights (and maybe a snack).
3. Know the Rules – Cops don’t just ride around looking cool; they know the law. Study hard, pay attention in class, and one day you’ll be the one enforcing the rules (like when your little brother tries to steal your cookies).
4. Become a Regular Police Officer First – Mounted police officers start as regular officers, so you’ll need to go through police academy first. Think of it like leveling up in a video game—you’ve got to complete a few missions before you get the cool mount!
5. Stay Kind & Fair – The best officers aren’t just tough; they’re good at talking to people, solving problems, and helping their communities. Practice being a leader now—maybe break up a playground argument (but, like, nicely).
You’ve got plenty of time, so keep learning, keep riding, and keep being awesome! One day, people might see you on your horse and say, “Whoa, that’s Officer Anne-Sophie, the legendary Mounted Police Hero!”
PS: If your horse ever tries to eat your lunch while you're on duty… just let it. Some battles you just can’t win.
All the best awesome future hero and let me know if I missed anything or anything is twirling up in that Brian ready for another question! 😎Stay cool as ever! 😉
