Hi I'm a current college student majoring in Social work , as a junior getting close to my senior year I feel like my resume is too narrow minded I wan to certify myself in other areas like first aide and such but I don't know I would incorporate that into my resume without sounding too extra??
My institution is Northwest Nazarene University, I already had a resume review not to long ago was solid but, felt it lacked diversity instead just listing my work, experience and such.

Adding certifications like first aid can enhance your resume, especially in Social Work. To avoid sounding "too extra," list them under a separate "Certifications" section and emphasize their relevance to your field.

Hi Niyor!
First of all, in my opinion things like certifications are never "too extra". Especially when they're in line with the type of job you're seeking. I think first aid is a great place to start. BLS is another one that would be very beneficial and not just as a social worker. Depending on where it is you want to work, try thinking of certifications that are going to help you be more successful once you get the job. There are so many to choose from.
If they're the right ones, certifications aren't going to seem "too extra". They're going to make you look like a hard worker that knows what he's doing. I hope this helps.
