Dear Muhammad,
It's gratifying to know you are already persuing a University qualification that earns you a pathway to the energy sector. Good grades are essential for success. As such, you need to be at your very best. Analytical & problem solving skills are important for all professionals. Soft skills are critical too: communication, leadership, ability to work in teams etc. Internships provide you exposure & hands-on experience across design, projects management, testing & documentation in the delivery of sustainability projects. They also give you access to industry softwares: HelioScope, Aurora, PVSell & Auto CAD. Besides, they provide opportunities for you to apply theoretical knowledge in real time & exposure to standards and design codes. Some of the companies that offer internships in the renewable energy sector in Australia include: Alinta Energy, Deloitte Australia, Chevron Australia, GPA Engineering, Powerlink Queensland, Rio Tinto. Career Success Australia requires interns to be members of it's Internship Academy. Post Graduate certifications are also available in many academic Institutions: Renewables Academy Australia, University of Technology Sydney, Engineering Institute of Technology etc. Their training programs:
a) Provide essential knowledge & skills for professionals in the renewable energy sector on solar, wind & energy efficiency technologies focusing on both technical & regulatory aspects
b) Equip students with knowledge to address energy challenges through innovative solutions with prime focus on renewable energy, energy efficiency & sustainable practices
c) Provide comprehensive understanding of sustainable energy systems & their applications.
Membership in professional associations exposes members to industry standards, best practices & the latest innovations across the energy fields. Some of the professional bodies in Australia's energy sector include: Australia Geothermal Association, Australian Photovoltaic Institute & Australian Solar Thermal Energy Association.
