Hi Emma! For someone going into computer science, both Mac and Windows have their strengths, but the best choice really depends on what you plan to focus on. Macs are great for programming, especially if you're working with Unix-based systems or learning languages like Python or Swift. On the other hand, Windows PCs tend to offer more flexibility for gaming, custom builds, and software compatibility, especially if you're interested in areas like cybersecurity and .NET development. I do recall many computer science students preferring Macs for the clean interface and development environment, but Windows can be just as powerful with the right setup. Personally, I’d choose the one that fits both my interests and budget, knowing that most tools I’ll need can run on either with the right configuration and you will get used to either option and learn to work with it quickly to get your desired results.
