How do I decide from two different majors I want to do (English or Social Work) #Spring25?
I am a High School senior trying to decide between two equally compelling career paths.

Mya,
I'll just cut to the chase. On which career path will you be able to pay your bills and live in a world where paying rent/mortgage and feeding and clothing yourself is a bottom line fact of life?
Certainly, get a college degree or higher in courses to which your interests gravitate. Determine how well you perform the activities about which you are passionate. Because if you are not good to great at something, why should someone hire you to perform that function?
Conduct this Google search: what professions will be in demand in ten years
Then substitute English and social Work to see which of these provides a different or expanded list. The results, because of our changing world, may or may not be entirely on target but you'll get an idea. AND you may find out that a certain country may be where that opportunity is most likely to be. Finally, in a global world, my advice is to consider learning multiple languages.
Good fortune to you moving forward.

If you truly want to study both then just do it. It might take a bit longer than the standard four years of secondary undergraduate education but folks do it all the time. It’s called a “double major”. Another option is to “major” in one and “minor” in the other. Good luck.
