Hello Benjamin,
To give surety to your future career, firstly, you have to invest in yourself. Start learning things you aspire to (like engineering etc), follow education courses, workshops or conferences. Read, read and read books. Join communities online or in person where you are able to learn from your peers or elders.
Then, specialize yourself in a specific domain. That domain must be something that you LOVE, I mean your passions. Write, read and listen more, speak less.
Heighten your general knowledge.
“Future is now. Build your tomorrow today, and your tomorrow will be good than your yesterday”
A quote by me
Benjamin, start building your future today. Work strongly to become better than everyone, invest in yourself, thence, your future will be SURELY guaranteed.
God bless you,

Thank you for your question. Firstly, have you thought of what careers you have interest. If you do something you have interest, you can do it good and be success.
Below are my suggestions:
1. Think about what you have interest, eg your hobbies, favourite subjects, etc and identify the related careers
Eg if you have interest in maths, would you like to be an accountant, engineer, banker, financial analyst, maths teacher, etc
If you like music, would you like to be an accountant, engineer, banker, financial analyst, maths teacher, etc
2. Find out more on these careers and determine what you have interest
3. Speak to someone who are working in these careers. Seek guidance from your mentor school career counselor, your parents, etc
4. Shortlist 1-2 careers you would like to pursue
5. Explore the entry criteria of relevant subjects in colleges
6. Upon graduation, you can establish a long term career development plan with short term milestones. Review it on regular basis and adjust if necessary.
Hope this helps! Good luck!
May Almighty God bless you!

To prepare for a future career—especially in engineering—it's essential to blend academic excellence, real-world experience, and strategic personal development. Here are key tips and tricks to help you achieve success now and in the future:
1. Explore your interests and strengths:
Identify what area of engineering excites you most (e.g., mechanical, civil, software, environmental). Align your studies and extracurricular activities to support those interests.
2. Build a strong academic foundation:
Focus on excelling in math, science, and technology-related subjects. These are critical to engineering success and open the door to competitive programs and internships.
3. Gain hands-on experience:
Participate in internships, co-op programs, or research projects. Experience in real-world settings will deepen your understanding and make you a stronger candidate when applying for jobs.
4. Develop soft skills:
Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities are just as important as technical knowledge. Join clubs, volunteer, or lead group projects to practice these skills.
5. Network early and often:
Attend career fairs, connect with professionals on LinkedIn, and talk to professors or mentors. Building a network can help you discover opportunities and gain valuable guidance.
6. Stay updated on industry trends:
Read engineering journals, follow relevant YouTube channels or podcasts, and stay curious. Knowing the latest tech and tools can give you an edge.
7. Set clear goals and adapt:
Create a career roadmap with short-term and long-term goals. Check in with yourself regularly and be open to adjusting your path based on new opportunities or experiences.
Join an engineering club or student chapter of a professional organization (e.g., IEEE, ASME).
Apply for a summer internship or research assistant role.
Ask a professor or engineer for an informational interview.
Create a portfolio of your projects (even school ones) to showcase your skills.
Take a free online course to deepen your knowledge in an area you're interested in (e.g., AI, CAD design, sustainable engineering).
