What things did you wish you knew when you first started college?
Even in my last high school year, among the comfort and familiarity of my home and school, the challenges college poses for me ahead are daunting. Are there any tips or codes to making my college life easier?

Your perspective can greatly influence how you start your college journey. Imagine knowing from the start how many systems and people are cheering you on and eager to see you succeed. There's an amazing support network of friends, teachers, tutors, and college services ready to help you. The entire setup is meant to help you grow and succeed. While you may face challenges, remember you are never alone. Many resources are available if you just reach out. Connect with your peers and seek out those you admire to learn from. You've got this!

Hey, I really liked your question. It’s such an important thing to ask, and honestly, I wish more people talked about it openly.
Starting college can feel overwhelming — like you're expected to have it all figured out right away. But you don’t need to have all the answers, just the willingness to learn along the way. One thing I wish I knew early on is how many people and resources are actually there to help you — professors, student services, even peers. You just have to be brave enough to ask. Taking care of your mental health is just as important as doing well in school—don’t ignore it, because you need both to really succeed.
Also, give yourself credit for what you're already doing well. Whether it's staying organized, being a good listener, or just showing up even when it's hard — those things matter, and they’ll carry you through more than you think. You’re not alone in this, and you’re more capable than you know.

College can feel scary because of all the unknowns, but you can handle it. Before I started, I wish I knew about all the resources available to me. My financial situation was tough, and balancing work and studies was challenging. However, it taught me to manage my time effectively, be creative, and complete tasks efficiently. Focus on what you're doing well now; those strengths will support you through college and its challenges. You are more knowledgeable and capable than you think.
