Hi Tshiamo,
It's ok not to like science. But you should consider what you want to be when you grow up and what the entry requirements are.
Taking tourism in high-school is a good option if you want to go into the tourism or hospitality industry. You can study tourism at some universities, you can go to hotel school or culinary school, or you can start in a restaurant or hotel, or with a tour operator and work your way up. A business management would also work with tourism and hospitality.
What other subjects are you taking? If you have the option to take a computer course, that's always useful.
If you think you might want to go to university, have a look at university websites to see what degrees are out there. Your closesest universities would be University of the Witwatersrand, University of Johannesburg and University of Pretoria. I left a couple of links for you below. You could also attend a TVET or another training institute.
If you are interested in a university degree, look for the admission requirements. You'll see the minimum number of "points" (calculated from your marks) you need and any extra entry requirements (e.g. math, language, etc). You can also make an appointment with the Careers Office or Admissions Office of the university and talk through your options.
If you are talented in creative fields, you probably won't need physical sciences, but make sure to check. In art, you could e.g. study fine arts, digital arts or design. You could also study film or journalism or communications if you like to write. Also have a look at options to become a teacher.
Any degrees in science, engineering, most medical degrees and degrees like business or accounting require you to take pure math (not math literacy) in high-school. Science and engineering will also require physical sciences.
I hope this helps! All the best to you!

It's wonderful that you're already figuring out what excites you and what doesn't. Not everyone in 10th grade has such self-awareness, so you're ahead of the game!
If Physics isn't your thing but you love art, creativity, and expression, switching to Tourism could be a great choice. Tourism is more than just travel; it's about culture, storytelling, design, and connecting with people. With your creative mindset, you could explore careers like:
Creative Career Paths to Explore
- Travel Content Creator: Use photography, writing, or video to share stories from around the world.
- Graphic Designer: Create designs for travel companies, tourism boards, or your own brand.
- Event Planner: Organize cultural festivals, destination weddings, or international conferences.
- Interior or Set Designer: Design immersive spaces for hotels, museums, or exhibitions.
- Illustrator or Animator: Bring stories to life through visual art, perfect for books, games, or educational tourism.
- Fashion or Textile Designer: Draw inspiration from global cultures and traditional art forms.
- Art Therapist or Educator: Use your creativity to help others express themselves.
You're on a path full of exciting opportunities!

Hi Tshiamo,
It's completely normal not to know what you want right now. I went through the same thing, and it worked out over time. So, first, don't stress about it.
Try some online quizzes or guides to explore your skills and interests. They can offer a few options to consider. It's not about limiting you; it's just a way to find what might fit you well.
Give it a try, and you might find some exciting possibilities. Check out the options and go for it! It's okay to dream. Whatever you choose, just do it well and always try your best!
Best,
Gilbert

If physics isn't your thing than go ahead and switch. But make sure that whatever subject you choose that there are jobs available. You don't want to spend time taking courses only to find out there are no jobs in the field. It would be great to do research on what you are most passionate about and then see what jobs correlate to your passion. Always be true to yourself.....once you leave school and go to work you will be spending so much of your time there.....so really make sure you pick a career that you love.
