Hello, I agree with Angel's answer and would add review job listing that you are interested in and tailor you resume to suite them using similar language or verbiage to match their requirements. This may mean that you slightly alter your wording for each resume you submit.

Vianne’s Answer

When preparing your resume, ensure it clearly highlights your strengths and experiences relevant to the job you're applying for. Employers often spend little time reviewing resumes, so make your key skills, work experience, volunteer work, and achievements easy to spot. Also, check for any spelling or grammar errors and maintain a clean, consistent format.

It's a good idea to customize your resume for each job instead of using the same one everywhere. Review the job description to identify the skills or experiences they seek, and emphasize those if you have them. Even if you're a student or just starting out, volunteer work, projects, clubs, leadership roles, and part-time jobs can effectively showcase your abilities and work ethic.

Angel’s Answer

When creating a resume, aim to clearly show your academic background and skills. Focus on your education, especially accounting and finance subjects, and mention your CMA progress to show your dedication to growing professionally. Highlight key skills like financial analysis, Excel expertise, and problem-solving. Include any internships, projects, or coursework that show hands-on experience. Keep your resume short, organized, and suited to the job you're applying for, so recruiters can easily see your potential and how you fit the role.

When preparing your resume, you should focus on showing your education, skills, and potential rather than worrying about having a lot of experience. Recruiters know that fresh graduates are still building their careers.

You can start with a clear and professional summary that mentions your B.Com degree, that you are pursuing the CMA USA certification, and the type of role you are seeking. Include your education and mention your expected CMA USA completion or the level you have passed. This shows employers that you are developing your finance and accounting knowledge.

Next, you can highlight relevant skills such as Advanced Excel, MS Office, financial accounting, bookkeeping, data analysis, communication, and problem-solving. These are valuable for entry-level finance and accounting roles.

If you have completed internships, projects, volunteer work, or online certifications, include them. Even academic projects that demonstrate accounting, finance, or business analysis skills can strengthen your resume.
